More specifically, we're trying to answer the question "Can ambient intelligence be used for knowledge management?"

We came accross this post of yours, about ambient awareness and business intelligence, and there are some ideas that we would be very interested to read further about, as it could help us in our research. We figured we would try to contact you...

Generally speaking, we are trying to contact experts who could give us interesting insights. We would therefore be interested to know your opinion on the topic, that is if you believe that ambient intelligence can be used for knowledge management.

Also, you said your blog post was an excerpt of a white paper you were writing. Could we know when to expect your paper to be completed (any chance to see it before the end of the year)?

Thank you for your time.

Matthieu Coucoulle and Trang HoTranghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16592803601736153085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033750.post-75420482658179359092009-10-13T13:33:20.121-07:002009-10-13T13:33:20.121-07:00Great post; lots of "meaty suff to think abou...Great post; lots of "meaty suff to think about." I look forward to the completed "whitepaper." But I can definitely imagine a sales team equipped with AR scouring certain environments -- imagine the impact at a conference!

In talking to clients about any of these technologies I think the key is to offer opportunities to run test and learn pilots at low cost before you go for a huge rollout. In the example I gave we are starting with handful of sales people and demonstrating real ROI before expanding the program.

As for what benefits this can bring -- how about increasing sales and decreasing the cost of sales? That seems sufficiently compelling :-)Ted Sheltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09651155562346606560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033750.post-62419009637920568722009-10-13T03:29:26.665-07:002009-10-13T03:29:26.665-07:00Interesting points, Ted, thanks for the post. I just recently asked Jan Muhlfeit, Microsoft's Chairman for Europe about the firm's plans for Augmented Reality technologies in a Leaders' Dialogue forum. I'll happily post the response once I get it. Should be interesting, though I think they are more focusing on their 'Surface' roll out (in Europe at least).

Can I ask what your thoughts are on the AR mobile sales force? If you can see people's profiles through mobile lenses such as the iPhone or Google's Android, will this mean a more mobile and 'out of office' sales force scouring the streets for suitable customers? How would you approach this question with a client? What benefits could this bring to a company...?

Brendan Donnellan (Prague)Brendanczhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03444074462729827819noreply@blogger.com
